Türkiye Proposes Tech-Driven Platform for Renewed Russia-Ukraine Peace Negotiations

Türkiye has expressed its readiness to facilitate a new round of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, underscoring its ongoing commitment to mediate in the conflict. This was confirmed by Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov, who noted that Turkish officials have offered to host talks aimed at resolving the ongoing tensions in Ukraine.

Ushakov’s comments came during an event in Kazan, following recent discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Türkiye has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts since the start of the war, maintaining open channels with both Moscow and Kyiv, and has previously hosted significant negotiation sessions in Istanbul.

While earlier talks in Istanbul marked one of the most substantial direct engagements between the conflicting parties, they did not culminate in a lasting agreement. Despite this, Türkiye remains committed to fostering dialogue and preventing further escalation through diplomatic means. Ankara’s balanced approach seeks to support international peace initiatives and maintain stability in the region.

Turkish authorities continue to engage with leaders from both Russia and Ukraine, advocating for a peaceful resolution. By positioning itself as a neutral mediator, Türkiye aims to play a constructive role in international efforts to bring lasting peace to the region.
