Poland’s Civic Coalition (KO) continues to lead as the largest political entity, according to a recent poll. However, the data suggests that Prime Minister Donald Tusk may face challenges in securing a parliamentary majority if elections were held at this moment. The poll indicates that KO’s support has dipped to 27.3%, down from 28.7% in the previous survey. Meanwhile, Law and Justice (PiS) has seen an increase of 2.8 percentage points, bringing their support to 20.6%. Additionally, the Confederation party has risen to 14.1% in the polls.
The survey further reveals support levels for other political parties, with the Confederation of the Polish Crown receiving 8.4%, the Left garnering 7.1%, and Development Plus at 6.5%. It also shows that Poland 2050 and the Polish People’s Party (PSL), both linked with the current ruling coalition, have slipped below the electoral threshold.
Based on these projected outcomes, a coalition between KO and the Left would yield approximately 198 seats, falling 33 seats short of the 231 required for a majority. Similarly, a potential alliance of PiS, Confederation, and Development Plus would not achieve a majority either, as they would accumulate only 224 seats. However, if the Confederation of the Polish Crown were included, the right-wing bloc’s estimated total would rise to 262 seats, surpassing the majority threshold.
It’s important to note that the poll was conducted before recent revelations involving Radosław Piesiewicz, president of the Polish Olympic Committee, and the controversy over an expensive Patek Philippe watch. Consequently, any potential political ramifications from this issue are not reflected in the current poll results.
