Polish President Karol Nawrocki has embarked on a strategic three-day visit to the Philippines, aimed at bolstering political, economic, and technological ties between the two nations. Accompanied by First Lady Marta Nawrocka, President Nawrocki’s itinerary includes a series of high-level meetings and events designed to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The visit features a significant meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., where the two leaders will engage in bilateral and delegation-level discussions. These talks are expected to explore various areas of cooperation, underscoring the commitment of both countries to strengthening their diplomatic relationship.
A key highlight of Nawrocki’s visit is his participation in the 5th Polish-Philippine IT Business Summit. This event, along with a Polish-Philippine hackathon, provides a platform for Nawrocki to meet with business representatives from both countries, opening avenues for increased economic collaboration and technological exchange.
In addition to these engagements, President Nawrocki will visit the University of Santo Tomas in Manila to interact with students, reflecting his focus on educational and cultural exchanges. He is also scheduled to meet with members of the Polish community in the Philippines, recognizing their role in fostering Polish-Philippine relations.
On the final day of his visit, Nawrocki will tour the Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base, where Black Hawk helicopters, manufactured by Poland’s PZL Mielec and used by the Philippine Air Force, are stationed. This visit highlights the existing defense ties and potential for further cooperation in the defense sector between the two countries.
