Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is set to visit Việt Nam from October 24 to 26, aiming to bolster cooperation between the two nations in various sectors including trade, education, science, and culture. Invited by Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, Tusk’s visit underscores both countries’ commitment to enhancing their diplomatic and economic ties.
Since establishing diplomatic relations on February 4, 1950, Việt Nam and Poland have maintained a burgeoning partnership that celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2025. This relationship has flourished through consistent diplomatic dialogue and collaborative exchanges in education and culture. Tusk’s visit comes in the wake of former Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s trip to Poland in January 2025, where both sides expressed intentions to elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership.
Economic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the Việt Nam-Poland partnership, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $3.94 billion in 2025, marking a 14.8% increase from the previous year. Việt Nam exports electronics, machinery, garments, footwear, coffee, and other agricultural products to Poland, while Poland supplies machinery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food products to Việt Nam. Tusk’s visit is expected to further explore these economic opportunities and strengthen cooperation in key sectors.
Both nations are keen on pursuing deeper commercial ties while also expanding collaboration in education, scientific research, and cultural exchanges. The visit reflects ongoing efforts by Việt Nam and Poland to deepen their longstanding relationship and advance shared economic and diplomatic interests, ensuring a mutually beneficial partnership for the future.
