New Brad Pitt Film Utilizes Cutting-Edge Tech; Title, Release Date Announced

Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role as Cliff Booth, the enigmatic stuntman from Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in a new spin-off film directed by David Fincher. The film, titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, has been officially announced by Netflix. It will follow Booth as he maneuvers through a shifting Hollywood landscape, set eight years after the original movie, in 1977.

The screenplay for this new venture has been penned by Quentin Tarantino himself, although he will not be directing the project. Tarantino had previously expressed a desire to avoid concluding his directorial career with a sequel, despite his interest in expanding on the Cliff Booth narrative. The film is slated for a two-week global IMAX release starting November 25, with its subsequent debut on Netflix scheduled for December 23.

In addition to Pitt, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast including Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian. The original film featured Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie and was set in the vibrant Los Angeles of the late 1960s.

David Fincher, known for his work on critically acclaimed films such as Fight Club, Zodiac, The Social Network, and Gone Girl, is at the helm of this project. He also has a rich history with Netflix through his direction of series like House of Cards and Mindhunter. Fincher’s involvement promises a fresh creative direction for the continuation of Booth’s story, diverging from Tarantino’s unique style.

The return of Cliff Booth signifies a significant reunion of Pitt with one of Tarantino’s iconic characters. While Tarantino has made a name for himself with classics like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight, Fincher’s direction is set to bring a new dimension to Booth’s adventures in a transformed Hollywood.
